PRECITA EYES SEEKS ARCHIVIST INTERN
Precita Eyes Muralists is seeking an undergraduate or graduate student with interest in the field of Museum Studies for a six month paid internship, working closely with our staff to develop our mural history archive. We are currently in the second phase of creating a physical storage space and establishing the archive as a community resource for artists and scholars.
The primary task will be to catalog current files and documents into individual categories and protective containers. These documents include drawings, source materials, videos, flyers, communications and contracts.
Additional responsibilities will be scanning and documenting slides and photographs of murals dating back to the 1970s. Our archive consists of over 15,000 documents related to over 550 mural projects created collaboratively with community groups, schools and other institutions.
The internship will run nine weeks (from Oct to mid-Dec 2019) for 7.5 hours/week at $25/hour.
If interested, contact Susan Cervantes at susan@precitaeyes.org
