The "Gigantes" mural project can be read in three concepts; The history of baseball both in San Francisco and specifically with the Giants, baseball and the Giants in the community, and the future of Giants baseball. It features Hispanic players, two of whom are Hall of Famers Juan Marichal and Orlando Cepeda. Historically, the Giants are a significant landmark for San Francisco, the Bay Area, and the community of fans who surround them. For this reason, the mural includes all three stadiums representing San Francisco Giants history in placement of the bases on a baseball diamond that stretches from one end of the mural to the other.

Beginning from left to right, Seals Stadium is depicted with the famous S.F. Seals player: Joe DiMaggio, at center: AT&T Park with Barry Bonds hitting "756", and at the far right: Candlestick Park representing the 1989 Earthquake and Battle of the Bay World Series, including Will Clark's "blast" homerun hit representing baseball as the fabric of America woven into our culture. The "blast" hit ball moves right to left from a larger than life portrait of Orlando Cepeda across the entire mural in a pattern unifying players, fans, the "756" ball, stadiums, ballparks, cultural events, and future Giants, metamorphosizing into the world and ending with a monumental portrait of Juan Marichal.

Other players included in the mural from left to right are Hall of Famers: Gaylord Perry, Willie McCovy, and Willie Mays (center) and the Alou brothers (top right center).

The Giants community is scattered throughout the mural from the fans to the different stadiums throughout history. Because the mural is being created in the Mission District and home to many Giants fans, the mural also features the Mission Reds, the minor league team who played at Seals Stadium in the 1920's through the 1940's. To the right between Candlestick and AT&T Park, the skyline of San Francisco embraces a few of the Mission District's landmarks, such as Mission Dolores and the New Mission Theater marquee.

"Vamos Gigantes" (Go Giants) hovers above the Mission District representing the saying, which Hispanic fans have come to use throughout the Giants 50-year San Francisco history.

The fans, some of which are families and friends, celebrate the future of the Giants. Tito Fuentes, shown at the bottom right side of the mural, is coaching the Jr. Giants, from the Giants Community Funds flagship program - all celebrating their teammate with cheers as she hits a ground ball to Tito.

Celebration of Mission culture and life is represented in front of AT&T Park with carnival dancers, conga beats, and Giant Shortstop and timbale player, Omar Vizquel. An Aztec dancer offers blessings to the four directions with the sounding of an ancient conch shell for all the fans and the world.

The two columns which frame the mural are baseball diamonds faded in alternate shades of black to orange with the S.F. Giants logo superimposed in the center of each.
