Volunteering

Volunteer Opportunities are as follows:

1. Mural Projects:

We have ongoing mural projects year round, primarily during April thru October, to get most updated mural projects please contact the center.

2. Art Class Assistants:

Assist teacher with preparation of class, keep kids active in projects and activities, and help clean up afterwards.

3. Mural Arts & Visitors Center:

• Pouring paint into quarts and pint jars.
• Labeling paint jars.
• Receptionist.
• Inventory.
• Window display.
• General shop maintenance

4. Mural Tour Docent

Recieve training and gain knowledge of the mural process, artisits, and mural descriptions, to become a docent for mural walks, bart and bicycle tours in the Mission District. One will be paid for each tour given.

5. Life Drawing and Figure Painting Nude Models

Monday and Thursday 7:00 - 9:30 pm

Looking for nude models: male or female, all body types, 18 years of age and older. First time is on a volunteer basis and if one continues one will be paid.

6. Publicity Department

• We also need help with our website and a graphic designer.

7. Special Events

• May is Mural Awareness Month. Contact us to learn more.

8. Ongoing volunteerism

• We are also looking for people who are interested in being a member of the Board of Directors
• Grant writing.

And many other very helpful jobs in different areas of the organization.


Volunteers who work over 3 hours can take any $12 Art Class for FREE.

Volunteers who work over 10 hours can take the $50 Mural Workshop, FREE.

Volunteers who work Over 70 hours can take the Mural Workshop, lead by Susan Cervantes, Executive Director and Master Muralists, for FREE.
