​In order to build a better world, we need to pay attention to and nurture the already existing love, compassion, creativity, and strength in our communities. We need to keep the stories of resilience and resistance alive. We need to recognize the beauty in front of us, to envision and create a new world. Recall and imagine with us on a mural walk.

​These are our upcoming offerings:

“Had a super great tour today with Carmela! She's so very knowledgeable, having grown up in the Mission. Her attention to detail and safety when crossing the streets was much appreciated. The cherry on the top was meeting her friend Richard who lives in the great Carlos Santana house on 25th Street who even invited us in to his "music room" so we could sign the wall with all the other great musicians. There were amazing photos of famous folks on the ceiling. Thank you Carmela, Precita Eyes and Richard. I'd been to Balmy Alley many times before but learned a lot from Carmela today ;)”

Born and raised in San Francisco, multidisciplinary artist Carmela Gaspar shares with us her love of the city and the people who lend their magic to it. This tour centers the community’s stories of resistance against oppressive systems, resilience, love, and creation against all odds.

Classic Mission Mural Walk

​Patricia Rose is a longtime neighborhood resident and a Precita Eyes Muralist since 1980. This tour includes lots of local lore and history, as well as plentiful narratives about the murals you'll be seeing. Tour is approximately 1.5 hours.
